My Sea

Watercolour and gouache on 32 x 24 watercolour paper, 2020, CHF 225. I based this watercolour and gouache painting on a photo I took from a hiking trail in Cyprus. The sea looked magnificent with its gorgeous turquoise and ultramarine colours. I heightened the colour and used the wet on wet method for a good deal of this painting. It was my first attempt at watercolour after a very long time without painting much at all! Painting with watercolours was pretty new to me in general, but I love the way this water medium lends itself so well to seascapes.
